Ian Watson reaction | Hull FC

Ian Watson was delighted with his sides performance as they ran out 20-56 winners over Hull FC, but insists there is still more to come from the Giants

Head Coach Ian Watson spoke to the media after our 20-56 win over Hull FC at the MKM Stadium, with his quotes below.

Ian, you must be pleased with your performance today, and another 50 points scored.

"We are, we spoke about coming here and doing the right things, last year we came here when Hull were on a losing streak and got turned over and that disrupted our season, so we wanted to ensure we had a real focus on defending and attacking well.

"First half we were outstanding, we completed 19 out of 19 sets I think in that first half, the only time we messed up they came up the other end and scored".

On Adam Swift, how good has he been so far for your team.

"Swift has been outstanding this year, he's had a knock to his eye which will need checking out and see where we go from there, but he's been outstanding.

It looked like it got quite heated in the second-half with Jake Connor and Gigi Sao, what can you tell us about that.

"We thought it was getting a little heated when Jake was taken off for a HIA after being hit high, that's what happens when you have ex-players playing against each other so we just wanted to calm it down and we did.

"It was more frustration of why it boiled over, there's a few lads in there with knocks and we didn't want any disruption to the team with the Catalans game on the horizon, its a huge game.

On any injury concerns.

"We've been trying to pick a settled team week in week out, but Joe Greenwood pulled up ill this morning, Sam Halsall failed his fitness test, but we do have options and lads who are healthy and waiting and its their chance to stake a claim in this team.

Could this be the start of a run that you want to put together.

"I think we've been good this year, we've been building week on week, but we weren't good enough to beat Wigan and Saints at the start of the year and that's where we need to be building on.

How was Adam Swift after the game and was it a concussion.

"It wasn't a concussion with Adam Swift, it was more his eye socket and blurred vision, he's talking fine it wasn't a concussion but his eye is badly swollen."
